Ms. Jones’ began her career as Head of Sample Line Production for London Fog Rainwear. She was drawn to costume design when she began to volunteer in community theatre in her hometown Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Jones chose to pursue theatre and accepted a position as Wardrobe Mistress at the Negro Ensemble Company in New York. She soon transitioned into designing, working at the New Federal Theatre, The Billie Holiday Theatre,Lincoln Center and assisting on Broadway. Vicki has costumed many notable actors including Phylicia Rashad, Denzel Washington and S. Epatha Merkerson, and worked with accomplished producers and directors Woodie King Jr., Spike Lee, Melvin Van Peebles and Samm-Art Williams. Vicki designs for regional theatre, university theatre, and independent film and video productions. Vicki is a former Adjunct Professor of Clothing Design. She's a teaching artist, and member of the Educational Theatre Association's Education Committee.
Ms. Jones Founded and was Executive Director of Bahari Sisters Inc. a non-profit organization which provided economic, educational and healthcare programs to Kenyan women and girls. The organization ceased operation in 2025. Vicki has received awards for her entrepreneurial work from Drexel University, The Baltimore Times and NonProfit Pro Magazine. She serves as an art adjudication judge for The Baltimore Office of Promotion & Arts and The Maryland State Arts Council and other US based art organizations. Ms. Jones is single and lives in Baltimore, where she is a member of Morning Star Baptist Church
